WE OFFER VARIOUS HEARING CARE SERVICES

At Harmony Hearing, our services are patient centered, and therefore we are dedicated to understanding how your hearing difficulties are impacting on your everyday life. We also offer clear and professional advice regarding your hearing and what best solutions are available to you.

We constantly aim to provide the most up-to-date clinical assessments and offer the most appropriate services and technologies in addressing client needs. We are fully committed to long term audiologist/client relationships, to ensure that you are looked after on your hearing journey throughout life.

MICROSUCTION

Essentially, Microsuction is a method of removing ear wax using a medical suction device under microscope. Microsuction is considered to be the safest, most effective and comfortable method of wax removal.

Specialised training is required for this procedure. Generally, the process allows an expanded view of the patient’s ear canal using illumination and a pair of operating microscopes called ‘loupes’. Gentle suction is then applied to the wax for the purpose of removal.

HEARING ASSESSMENT

An advanced clinical hearing assessment requires several procedures which can include: completion of patient history, videoscopic ear examination, Rinne and Weber tuning fork test, speech audiometric, speech in noise tests, audiometric testing, and tympanometry to test the middle ear function.
Upon completion of the assessment, the outcomes are explained to you in clear and easy to understand terms. Depending on the findings, you will be advised as to the best course of action. This can include being told that there is no hearing loss present, that no intervention is required, a referral to your GP for further evaluation, a referral to an ENT consultant, or a recommendation regarding hearing instruments.
Should hearing aids be recommended, then the various technologies and their functions along with the styles of the hearing aids are discussed.

FITTING

The fitting of your new hearing aids is an important step in the process as it is necessary to ensure the hearing aids meet your needs and expectations.

Harmony Hearing employ various techniques in ensuring validation and verification of the hearing instruments. Patient feedback is a critical factor in ensuring a ‘best fit’. Counselling is another factor in
ensuring the client’s needs are met.

FOLLOW-UPS

There is a rehabilitation process when hearing aids are fitted. Once a client is successfully fitted with their new heaing instruments, the client will be required to attend our clinic for a follow-up after a number of weeks. As every person is unique, the hearing instruments may require adjustments and the number of initial follow-ups vary from person to person.

ON GOING SUPPORT

Hearing aids require servicing. Patients’ hearing normally changes as time moves on. For these reasons we are committed to a strong client/audiologist relationship as it is well recognised that hearing loss is a journey throughout life. Harmony Hearing, therefore, offer a full back-up service including a four year warranty, regular servicing, and frequent retesting and reprogramming.
